Trauma Therapy
When something overwhelming happens, your body does what it needs to do to get you through it, and then doesn't always switch off afterwards. We work with that directly, at whatever pace you can manage.

Sessions are held by secure video, so you can be anywhere in North Dakota. What matters is that you tell us you're here, because it decides who is able to work with you.
We check first. Practice is restricted here. We confirm what your counsellor must hold before matching you, and we tell you what it is.
Counselling is licensed at state level in the US, so your counsellor must hold a North Dakota licence — commonly LPCC, LMFT and LICSW, or a licensed psychologist. A licence from another state does not carry over, except for psychologists practising through PSYPACT and, increasingly, counsellors through the Counseling Compact. We match you with someone licensed here rather than working around it.
Whoever we match you with, you'll be told which registration they hold and their number, so you can check it against the register yourself before booking. The wider picture for the United States is on the the United States page.
North Dakota runs on Central, and Mountain in the south-west. We confirm your local time in writing before your first session.
Call 911 in an emergency. The 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline takes calls and texts at any hour, anywhere in the US. Crisis Text Line: text HOME to 741741.
We are not a crisis service and cannot respond urgently or out of hours. More options are on our crisis page.
Many plans reimburse out-of-network counselling. Ask your insurer for your out-of-network mental health benefit and annual maximum, then ask us for a superbill — an itemised receipt carrying your counsellor's licence number and the codes your insurer needs.

Learn more →EMDR helps your mind finish processing something it couldn't process at the time. It's one of the most researched trauma treatments there is, and it usually asks far less of you than telling the story over and over.
Learn more →You've probably tried the apps and the planners already. We'll build the practical side with you, and we'll also work on what tends to go unaddressed: the years of assuming you should find all this easier.
