Trauma Therapy
When something overwhelming happens, your body does what it needs to do to get you through it, and then doesn't always switch off afterwards. We work with that directly, at whatever pace you can manage.

Every session is held by secure video, so where you sit is up to you. What matters is that you tell us where that is, because it decides who is able to work with you.
Matching within days. We work here by matching you with a counsellor registered where you live. Send us a note and we will confirm availability, usually within two working days.
In the UK, "counsellor" and "psychotherapist" are not titles protected by statute — registration is through voluntary registers, principally the BACP, UKCP and NCPS, all of which are accredited by the Professional Standards Authority. "Practitioner psychologist" is protected, by the HCPC. We match you with someone on an accredited register, and we will tell you which one and give you their registration number.
We will tell you which registration your counsellor holds and give you the number, so you can check it against the register yourself before you book. If you would rather not take that on trust, you shouldn't have to.
Some private medical policies, including Bupa, AXA Health and Vitality, cover counselling, though most require a GP referral and a provider on their own panel. Employee assistance programmes frequently cover a fixed number of sessions. Worth checking both before you pay privately.
You'll know what a session costs before you book it, never after. If cost is what's stopping you, say so — we hold a small number of reduced-fee places and nobody will ask you to justify the request.
You are in GMT and BST. We confirm your local time in writing before your first session, because a mix-up discovered at six in the morning is nobody's idea of a good start.
Call 999 in an emergency. Samaritans: 116 123, free from any phone, at any hour. Shout: text SHOUT to 85258. NHS urgent mental health helplines are listed at nhs.uk.
We are not a crisis service and cannot respond urgently or out of hours, anywhere. More options are on our crisis page.

Registration is UK-wide, but health services and referral routes differ.
What we work with
When something overwhelming happens, your body does what it needs to do to get you through it, and then doesn't always switch off afterwards. We work with that directly, at whatever pace you can manage.
Learn more →EMDR helps your mind finish processing something it couldn't process at the time. It's one of the most researched trauma treatments there is, and it usually asks far less of you than telling the story over and over.
Learn more →You've probably tried the apps and the planners already. We'll build the practical side with you, and we'll also work on what tends to go unaddressed: the years of assuming you should find all this easier.
Learn more →Anxiety and depression are usually how something else shows up on the surface. Your symptoms are real and worth treating, and we'd rather work with what's driving them than teach you to live around them.
Learn more →Grief doesn't follow a schedule and it rarely looks the way you expect. Nobody here will hurry you through it or hand you a set of stages to work along.
Learn more →Most couples aren't really arguing about the thing they're arguing about. We help you see what's actually happening between you when it escalates, and what it would take to change it.
Learn more →Tell us where you'll be sitting and what's going on. We'll come back within two working days with a straight answer about whether we can help.
